Tuesday. The studio is open seven days, but Tuesday runs 11 AM to 4 PM. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday run 10 AM to 8 PM, and Sunday is 12 to 7 PM. For a date night that leaves five evenings and a Sunday afternoon.

Couples Massage is $120 for 30 minutes, $160 for 60 minutes and $240 for 90 minutes, and each of those figures covers both of you rather than each of you. At the hour that works out to $80 a head, which is what one person pays for a 60 minute table massage on the same menu.

The room has two tables in it, side by side. Both of you are on a table at the same time rather than in shifts, so neither of you is sitting in reception with a phone while the other one has their hour.

The 60 minute booking is the middle of the three, and long enough that neither of you is hurried off the table. The 30 minute one is genuinely short — it suits a first visit, or a gap before a dinner reservation, rather than the main event. The 90 minute is the unhurried version, worth booking on a night when neither of you has to be anywhere afterwards.

Pressure is settled with your own therapist, not agreed between the two of you in the car. Say it in the first minute or two: where to spend the time, how firm to go, and anything sore enough to work around. If one of you wants firm pressure kept up for the whole hour, Deep Tissue Massage is its own line on the menu at $100 for 60 minutes rather than something added to a couples booking.

Work back from the closing time. On Monday and from Wednesday through Saturday that is 8 PM, so a 60 minute session has to start by 7 PM and a 90 minute one by 6:30 PM. A 6 PM start on the 90 minutes is the comfortable version, because it leaves room to park, check in and settle rather than starting the clock in the doorway.

Sunday closes at 7 PM, which moves every start an hour earlier. Tuesday closes at 4 PM, so that one is an afternoon rather than a night out.

Probably something, and less than the advertising around it suggests. Mayo Clinic Health System puts it in terms of hormones: a 60 minute massage lowers cortisol, which the body produces under stress, while releasing serotonin.

It is also no longer an unusual thing to buy. National survey data reported by NCCIH show that 10.9 percent of U.S. adults used massage therapy in 2022, more than double the 4.8 percent who used it in 2002.

The same overview reports that the risk of harmful effects from massage appears to be low, and that some of the rare serious side effects on record involved vigorous types of massage such as deep tissue work. That is the practical argument for speaking up at the table: if the pressure crosses from firm into painful, say so and it comes down.

Then book a single service and skip the couples price. A 60 minute table massage is $80, foot reflexology is $80 for the same hour, and Combination A splits the hour between the two for $90.

The person who came along does not have to wait in the car either. Chair massage runs 20 minutes for $35 or 30 minutes for $50 — you sit in a chair with your clothes on, nothing to take off — which is a reasonable way to spend the time while somebody else is on the table.
